Who are we?
Chat to Val, Rod, and family to find out what life is like living and working on our busy farm. Meet the animals and take a walk around the farm too. We love living here on the North Devon and Cornwall border and hope you will enjoy your time here too.
About us
Roddy and Val moved to Forda Farm in August of 1997 and our 4 star GOLD Bed and Breakfast opened in April of 1998.
We are celebrating 25 years of the Bed and Breakfast being OPEN this year! Quite an achievement.
We both went to Agricultural colleges, Rod to Seale Hayne in South Devon and Val to Edinburgh.
We had a number of farming jobs after college before meeting on a farm in Scotland and then moving to Devon in 1992 to work and farm outside Bideford. After 5 years there we moved to Forda.
We were joined over the years by 4 children, 3 of whom still live at home, the eldest is already working in farming and at home too. The youngest, at 16, is very keen on farming too, but could change his mind. The girls chose other careers, though the youngest has always been good at lamb feeding when needed.

Farm Stays
Val will meet you with a cream tea on arrival, this will be served to you in the dining room or your room or in the garden if the weather is nice. The choice is yours.
A member of the family will always take you out for a guided tour of the farm, if you wish.
Wellies or walking boots are always a good idea especially if the weather has been wet. Hand washing and sanitising is a MUST both before and after returning from a tour.
We would like you to :
- Enjoy a taste of the countryside
- Get an understanding of farming life
- Explore North Devon and Cornwall
- Relax in peace and quiet
- Have a wonderful time

Here at Forda Farm we are also part of a farm tourism cooperative called North Devon Farm Holidays. It is a cooperative that celebrates holiday accommodation in North Devon on farms. To learn more about this be sure to take a look at their website.
