Having Covid -19 during your Stay

Guests with symptoms of Covid-19, or feeling unwell during their stay must inform their host and are required to go to the nearest test centre. Return to your accommodation to await your result. The result must be shown to your host. If positive, then you must leave immediately if this is possible.

If for any reason this is not, and self-isolation is required to take place at Forda Farm Bed and Breakfast, then all fees for all bookings adversely affected by this self-isolation will be borne by the guest, as per government statements. This will also include cost of cleaning the room after you vacate by a professional cleaning company and not Val.

We will continue to ask for guests details on booking. These details include names of all guests in party, home address, contact telephone number, dietary requirements. Anything which is pertinent to your booking and making your stay a good one. We hope you understand. We do not pass any information to other parties! Social Distancing

We respectfully ask all our guests to follow the current guidelines in respect of social distancing.

For the family safety Val will continue to spend some time chatting to you but she will try where possible to minimise her contact time and will continue to keep her distance to 2 metres even when this has been reduced. I hope you can all respect this.

If we feel that guests are behaving irresponsibly in terms of Covid-19 precautions and social distancing we maintain the right to ask them to leave if they insist on not complying.

Farmstays during Covid-19

We normally encourage our guests to walk around the farm at anytime, however in order to ensure the safety of our farming family we are happy to take you around the farm with limited access by way of guided tours. Hand washing and sanitising will be required before you go and on returning but I hope you will still get an insight into how the farm works from day to do and perhaps see some of our abundant wildlife too. We are sorry for the inconvenience but hope that you understand.

Cleaning procedures

I have chosen to keep a few days break between bookings for your safety and for our farming family.

I am also changing out all duvets, pillows and mattress toppers after every booking and isolating them and putting in a fresh set at every change over. This I feel is the best way to protect us all.

I am washing all other bed linen at 60 degrees, including all protectors and valances too. PPE is worn during this and uniform too.

Cleaning the rooms. This starts with putting out anything that is dirty first. A quick hoover to remove surface dirt. Mist mattress, sofa and curtains with sanitiser.

Then start with the shower rooms. Hot soapy water is used to wash everything clean using colour coded cloths. Then disinfecting and sanitising with my sanitiser which is specifically for this purpose. ( it is also safe to use with my septic tank) Hoover the en-suite floor again, then mop it with disinfectant/sanitiser.

Main bedroom. Having made beds with fresh bedding and fresh pillows, duvet and topper now mattress is dry after misting from sanitiser. Move on to wiping down all the furniture surfaces with warm soapy water. (Sanitiser/disinfectant does not work on dirty surfaces.) Once this is complete go back around and repeat the process with disinfectant/sanitiser. Finally change in fresh chairs for dining under the table in the room clean and disinfect/sanitise. Hoover the floor, not forgetting the sofa (mist it again). Mop floor with disinfectant/sanitiser.

Fill beverage tray. Redo any touch point like door handles.

Finally empty hoover, clean, disinfect/sanitise.

Each room has it’s own hoover. You have a couple of cleaning cloths and some cleaning liquid and a tea towel. You can use them if you need to. Or ask me to change things at breakfast time. Val

Breakfast is now served in your rooms.

All cereals, beverages, condiments and preserves are now individually packaged where possible for your safety.

If I have to decant something I will cling film it.

The cutlery and crockery is washed at 75 degrees now.

I use a dedicated tea trolley to serve your meals to your room or out to the garden.

You have dedicated garden furniture for your use during your stay. This can be easily disinfected/sanitised.

I send you a digital guide book which has details on where to go around the area, where to eat, my breakfast menu etc.

Non Availability of Accommodation

We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday, including your deposit. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.

Arrival and Departure

Your accommodation will be available to you from 5 p.m. on the day of your arrival. Please call around 30 minutes before arrival so I can pop the kettle on for your cream tea. We require full payment for your stay upon arrival. Any additional costs will be settled at departure i.e. breakages, evening meals etc. You are requested to vacate your room by 10 a.m. on the morning of departure.

I apologise for the time scale above but I am adhering to government cleaning protocols to make your stay as safe as possible. I hope you can aid me in this by sticking to the times above. Thank you.

Late Arrival

If you are very late into the evening, please keep in touch. We are more than happy to answer the phone so don’t hesitate about calling to confirm directions. Remember, the house is down a short lane after you see our sign.

Damages and Breakages

Please report any damage or breakages to us at the time so we can rectify them. We do not normally charge for small breakages, however, we may invoice you if the breakage or damage is more significant. Please take care as you are responsible for the cost of any breakages or damages which you cause during your stay.

Liability

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicle or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by us or contractors while going about their farm work.

Any issues with Forda Farm Bed and Breakfast need to be raised with Val and Rod before departure as any problems cannot be rectified later.
